OSIPP Visited Indonesia

Mr. Gino Latief (Yayasan Mitra Mandiri Indonesia), Mr. Hironori Tarumi (Professor of Public Policy from Hokkai-Gakuen University), and Prof. Naoto Yamauchi (Professor of Economics from Osaka University)

November 4, 2014, Prof. Naoto Yamauchi and team from OSIPP (Osaka School of International Policy and Politics) in Osaka, Japan visited Yayasan Mitra Mandiri Indonesia. Prof. Naoto focus is doing research about NGO and NPO.  So far, he conducted NGOs research in Amerika and Europe, but now he is deepen his knowledge about NGOs in Southeast Asia.  In Indonesia, they are interested with Yayasan Mitra Mandiri Indonesia, affiliated of UnitedWay Worldwide in finding more informations regarding the development of social issues in Indonesia and to complete their research.

We truly honored for this visit and thank you Prof. Hironori Tarumi and Prof. Naoto Yamauchi for their visit to YMMI.

NNA Daily from Japan visited Clean Water Location in Cikadu

November 18th, 2014, Yayasan Mitra Mandiri Indonesia (YMMI) and Yamaha Motor Nuansa Indonesia (YMNI)  accompanied a reporter from NNA Daily from Japan Media to visit our program location of clean water in Cikadu, Purwakarta, West Java.  He was interested about community activities in Cikadu Village, and impact of that program for the community in Cikadu and its surr after receiving our program.  Since its completion and handover in January 2014, the water committee said that the villagers health condition is much better compare to before receiving this clean water facility. They are now able to have a quality drinking water directly in their villages without need to walk for more than 5 kilometers as before and even able to sale the drinking water to neighbors villages and  have already able to reach an income IDR 6 – 7 million per month from the sales of drinking water.  

The facility can produce 8000 liter of drinking water quality per day.Executive Director of YMMI, Mr. Gino Latief said :  our vision is duplicate this program to more area nationwide because the needs of clean water in Indonesia is very high especially in rural and remote areas.

Piggybank Competition

Piggybank competition is part of Agen Penny program that is supported by Citibank and its volunteers for elementary school in Jakarta, where each school can send 2 piggybanks made from recycle material by group of student being mentored by their teacher. The aim of this program is to continue increase students interest and creates habitual of saving to avoid the consumptive way of living starts from early ages.

Piggybank competition 2014 is the third year of competition since 2012, which will start on end of September until early November 2014. All of piggybank created by the student will be uploaded to Agen Penny website (www.agenpenny-id.com) where students themselves can do their vote to select the favorite winners. We thank you Citibank and their employee volunteers who continue giving their commitment in supporting the program.

Jambore Koperasi

Dalam rangka menggalakkan pendirian koperasi di Rusunawa Jakarta, Dinas Koperasi dan Dinas Perumahan bekerjasama dengan yayasan-yayasan koordinator rusunawa di Jakarta mengadakan acara Jambore Koperasi di Rusunawa Pulo Gebang yang dihadiri oleh Wakil Gubernur DKI, Bp. Djarot Saiful Hidayat. Jambore Koperasi diisi dengan berbagai perlombaan seperti; Lomba pidato, cerdas cermat dan yel-yel.
